Jackson Martin, a senior at Tome School, has been named a National Merit Scholarship Corporation Semifinalist.
Jack is one of 16,000 students in the country to receive the honor; that number accounts for less than 1% of graduating high school seniors.
Students are entered into the National Merit Program by taking the PSAT and meeting other entry requirements. Over 1.5 million students enter the Program each year.
Approximately 50,000 students are identified as high-scorers. Those students are then named Commended Scholars, or moved to Semifinalist consideration.
National Merit Scholarship Finalists and scholarship recipients will be announced early next year.
